Our special long girth is ideal for very narrow-chested, small or short-backed round horses - the typical shape of Icelandic horses, ponies and smaller Arabian mares. The girth has stabilisation loops at both ends and elasticated stainless steel buckles. With its slightly curved cutout, it suits this body shape and prevents the girth from slipping forward and impeding elbow movement.

Because these horses often have a narrow distance between their front legs and to avoid restricting their movement, MATTES has designed its special long girth without a wider centre section.
The girth is available in five different lengths from 90 cm to 125 cm. Design your special long girth to suit your needs and preferences: The outer material with the distinctive quilted pattern and super premium quality lambskin are available in more than 30 colours. The special long girth is available with or without elastic buckle straps and with or without removable lambskin. Replacement girths and lambskin are available separately.
Note:
There is a possibility of dye bleeding into the horses hair or other materials from dark or bright colored skin, because of the horses-sweat or use of unsuitable washing detergent.
Strong dyed leather of saddles etc. can also leave discolorations.
